HydroLab Marine is the brainchild of Nick Leigh, an industrial designer from Raglan with decades of experience designing foils and hull shapes for speed and efficiency. Seeing a gap in the market, Nick set out to build something the NZ boating community was missing — good looking, roomy, stable, and seriously efficient on the water.

Scott from Freedom Outdoors owns the very first 5m semi-foiling centre console cat off the production line. With a hard bimini, live bait tank and a few choice extras, it's become the ultimate fishing and diving machine — and we love it.

We've been alongside Nick from the beginning, throwing in our two cents on design to help make HydroLab boats as user-friendly as possible for the NZ fishing and diving community.
